What to Do in Siem Reap, Cambodia | 36 Hours Travel Videos | The New Yor...

Beyond Angkor Wat, Siem Reap has its own allure, with enticing dining options, stylish shops, genial residents and a laid-back river town ambiance.

Planning a trip to see the architectural marvel of Angkor Wat? A UNESCO World Heritage site, Cambodia’s ancient Khmer temple complex conjures imaginations around the world. Now there’s a new place to stay in Siem Reap to add to your travel wish list.

Treeline Urban Resort will debut in November on the banks of the Siem Reap River; it’s the brainchild of Cambodian designer Hok Kang who’s looking to add “an innovative urban style”—to quote the official website—“to the local hotel scene.” The property takes its name from the Angkorian trees that seem to mystically wrap themselves around the famous ruins.

Of the hotel's stylish contemporary guest rooms, the suites on the third floor come with a living area with dining table and spacious bathrooms with two sinks, rain shower and bathtub. These Executive Suites have views over the lush courtyard, swimming pool, or the river.
